Our stay here was outstanding, reasonable base for exploring Lucca. We loved twin room provided with balcony, great decor, as for instance. Quiet and best possible location, Galileo Galilei airport was 25 km away. The hotel itself was in a very very nice area. Everything was simply perfectly fine.
The staff was stressed.

The san marco hotel is ideally suited for a visit to lucca as it lies 10 mins walk from the city gates yet offers a restful location to relax after each visit. It seems to be the only hotel with a pool so close to the city and that allows a sun holiday to be combined with a cultural experience. The entire staff are extremely polite and helpful. The rooms whilst small are very well designed and bright and airy.the pool is big enough for a decent swim and surrounded by lovely trees. All in all the hotel is really wonderful.
The rooms do not have balconies and the windows cannot be fully opened, however the terrace of the hotel and foyer and pool are so easily acessible and pleasant that it didnt matter and it had been a concern of mine so really there was nothing i didnt like about the hotel.

Very good location, walking distance to the city centre and at the same time free parking with underground car park available. Nice hotel garden with small pool to relax after sightseeing. Varied breakfast buffet. Modern, clean rooms, windows can be opened. Friendly staff.

Excellent hotel in its price range, and very good value-for-money. Perhaps the most friendly and service-minded staff we have met during our years of travelling in Italy. Good location near the city wall of Lucca, as well as in relation to the highway between Florence and the coast-line. Clean and accessible, with free parking and a nice little garden with a pool. Would definitely be staying here again when in Lucca.

the location of the hotel is ideal, just outside Lucca's city walls so a perfect walk (when it doesn't rain) to the centre of town
the bathroom taps are a nuisance and the shower could be improved (water stream not strong enough)
